Rapper 50 Cent has pleaded not guilty to domestic violence and vandalism charges after allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend, and has also been ordered to turn in his firearms.
The 38-year-old music star appeared in court yesterday where he stood before a judge on charges of assaulting his former girlfriend at her Toluca Lake, Los Angeles apartment on June 23 while he is also accused of trashing her property.
According to Sky News, the rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, did not speak during the hearing in LA but his lawyers entered a not guilty plea.
Jackson reportedly got into an argument with Daphne Narvarez at her home and apparently flew into a rage, causing $7,100 (£4,650) of worth of damage to her property before allegedly breaking down the bedroom door where she was hiding and kicking her, causing an injury.
Jackson is said to have already left the scene by the time the police arrived, but was later charged with misdemeanour domestic violence and four counts of vandalism.
The judge at yesterday’s court hearing ordered Jackson to hand in his guns or sell them to a licensed firearms dealer and he was also handed a protective order which states he must stay at least 100 yards away from Narvarez.
If found guilty, Jackson faces a fine of $46,000 and up to five years in jail.
